Bellevue Arts Museum exhibition in 2021

The Alden Mason Art Foundation is pleased to announce that we are preparing to publish a comprehensive monograph that will chronicle and illustrate the work, teaching and life of Alden Mason, one of Seattle’s most celebrated and prominent artists.  We are also excited that the Bellevue Arts Museum has scheduled an Alden Mason retrospective in 2021.  Roger Hull has agreed to curate the exhibition and the Foundation is collaborating with Roger, the Director and staff of the museum to exhibit a survey of Alden’s work covering the full range of Alden’s career.

Alden Mason was a prolific, vibrant and masterful painter known for several virtuosic conceptual mannerisms and styles. Alden was known for his highly praised Burpee Garden Series and the inventive squeeze bottle paintings that were to become his signature method of working after health concerns prevented the continuation of the Burpee paintings. His work has been shown widely across the U.S. with successful and acclaimed shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.  Alden exhibited in numerous venues featuring Northwest artist and had over 30 solo shows in Seattle, Portland and Vancouver BC.  He is included in many important museum and private collections and has been the recipient of several prestigious public commissions.
